We’re thrilled to offer an advanced teeth whitening solution that utilises cutting-edge LED technology to brighten your smile and maintain the health of your teeth.

Sparklewhite Teeth Whitening - Love your smile!

Your smile is one of the first things people notice, but coffee, red wine, and growing older can dim its natural brilliance. The good news? Our Sparklewhite Teeth Whitening treatment can help you reclaim that bright, beautiful smile!

We’re thrilled to offer an advanced teeth whitening solution that utilises cutting-edge LED technology to brighten your smile and maintain the health of your teeth.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Sparklewhite’s dental-grade, FDA-approved, hydrogen peroxide gel is safe and effective. We carefully apply the gel to your teeth and use a Cool Light LED (Light Emitting Diode) to accelerate the whitening process. The LED light activates the gel, targeting stubborn stains and revealing a whiter, brighter smile. Plus, your gums are protected with a special wax during the treatment.

Why Choose Sparklewhite?

  • Safe & Effective: Our process does more than just whiten—it removes plaque and tartar, promoting healthier teeth and gums.

  • Gentle Whitening: Unlike harsh bleaching methods, we use gentle ingredients that are safe for your teeth and gums.

  • Long-Lasting Brightness: With proper care, your results can last a long time. We recommend follow-up treatments within 4 weeks and maintenance every 3-6 months to keep your smile looking its best.

IS IT SAFE?

Absolutely! As registered members of the NZCTWA (New Zealand Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Association), our trained and qualified practitioners ensure your teeth whitening experience is both safe and effective.

HOME WHITENING KITS

You've tried the in-home tooth whitening strips, the toothpaste, the pen from the chemist, but you haven't loved them?

Here's why: over-the-counter products either aren't strong enough, or they don't stay on long enough to penetrate the enamel where stains live.

Our professional home kits work differently. A dental-grade 6.9% hydrogen peroxide gel - the highest strength available over the counter - is painted directly onto teeth, then activated by an LED light that helps push the gel into the stained pores.

The result is an effective whitening treatment you can do at home, in the car, or at your desk.

The LED light in our professional at-home kits changes the game.

Red light therapy has a solid body of research behind it for oral health - reducing gum inflammation, supporting healing after dental procedures, easing tooth sensitivity, and even accelerating orthodontic tooth movement. Worth knowing about if canker sores or gum irritation are a thing for you too. (See more below.)

Whether you go in-clinic or take it home in a kit, Sparklewhite delivers.

WHAT'S IN YOUR HOME WHITENING KIT?

  • 1 x Dental grade 6.9% Hydrogen Peroxide application pen (highest over-the-counter strength)

  • 1 x LED Activator light (with 3 colour choices) for a much quicker result

  • 1 x Magnetic USB cord for charging

  • Shade guide

  • Instructions

BENEFITS:

  • Easy to use, just paint and go

  • Convenience – use at home, work, car or travelling

  • Painless & SAFE

  • Rejuvenates caps, crowns, fillings & veneers

  • Approximately 20 applications per pen

The gel in our pens isn't as strong as what is used in the clinic, but you still get great results.

BENEFITS OF RED LIGHT THERAPY FOR YOUR TEETH AND GUMS

Oral Bacteria, Gingivitis & Periodontal Gum Disease

Gum health matters as much as smile brightness. Research indicates red light therapy may support conventional gum care - a 2011 study found it appeared to improve outcomes for chronic gingivitis when used alongside standard treatment. Two further studies from 2018 and a 2019 study observed lower bacterial levels and better periodontitis outcomes when red light therapy was combined with traditional treatment.

Extracted Teeth

A 2015 study used extracted teeth to examine red and near-infrared light on Enterococcus faecalis, a bacterium known for its resistance to disinfectants and its role in root canal failure. After two weeks of incubation, teeth treated with red light showed a significantly greater reduction in bacterial count than those treated with near-infrared laser, with both outperforming the control group.

Tooth, gum, and bone regeneration

For patients awaiting implants after extraction, healing time matters. A 2019 study found red light therapy appeared to accelerate soft tissue and bone regeneration during recovery. A 2020 study observed favourable outcomes in children following pulpotomy - a procedure to save decaying teeth by removing infected pulp - with comparable findings reported in studies from 2014 and 2015.

Oral wounds and ulcers

Red light therapy shows promise across a range of oral wound conditions. Two studies - from 2014 and 2019 - found it may help reduce both pain and healing time associated with canker sores, which affect around 20% of the population.

For denture wearers, denture stomatitis - a common inflammatory condition caused by Candida - can be persistent and prone to recurrence. A 2004 study and a 2015 study both found red light therapy appeared to have a meaningful fungicidal effect, suggesting it may be a useful option where recurrence is a concern.

Oral lichen planus, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the mouth's mucous membranes, currently has no cure; treatment focuses on managing symptoms. A 2017 systematic review of six studies found red light therapy appeared effective across all six, with no adverse effects reported, leading researchers to suggest it may offer a well-tolerated alternative to corticosteroids for symptom management.

Research also points to a broader role in wound healing - a 2015 review noted red light therapy is increasingly being integrated with mechanical therapy to support debridement, decontamination and tissue recovery.

Oral complications due to CANCER treatment

Cancer treatment can bring a range of difficult oral side effects - among them mucositis, dry mouth, swelling, burning sensation, difficulty swallowing and taste changes. Research from 2018 and 2019 suggests red light therapy may offer meaningful support here, with studies indicating it could be a safe and practical option for managing these complications - with potential benefits for both quality of life and treatment adherence.

Orthodontic Tooth Movement

Lengthy orthodontic treatment is frustrating for patients - and the longer it runs, the greater the risk of complications like cavities, root resorption and gum recession. Research suggests red light therapy may help. A 2020 review of 11 studies found it appeared to statistically accelerate tooth movement in 8 of the 11, with several further studies pointing to similar findings.

Pain and swelling related to dental procedures

Anyone who's had braces knows the soreness after a tightening - not to mention the ongoing irritation to cheeks, lips and gums. Studies from 2015 and 2017 suggest red light therapy may help reduce both spontaneous and chewing pain associated with orthodontic treatment, and it sits within a broader body of research supporting its use for pain management generally.

Root Canals

Few dental procedures inspire more dread - but there's encouraging news. A 2017 study found that patients who received red light therapy after a root canal reported significantly reduced pain in the first four days post-procedure compared to a placebo group, with a 2019 review similarly pointing to its promise for post-procedure pain management.

Research also suggests benefits beyond the root canal itself. A 2018 study found red light therapy may help reduce postoperative pain in patients with molar pain caused by apical periodontitis, and a 2015 meta-analysis reported favourable outcomes for both pain and swelling following molar surgery - findings echoed in a 2016 study.

Tooth Sensitivity

Tooth sensitivity has many causes - reflux, grinding, acidic foods, gum recession, and increasingly, teeth whitening products. As whitening has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry, sensitivity has become a more common concern.

Research suggests red light therapy may help. A 2016 study found both red and near-infrared light significantly outperformed placebo in reducing post-bleaching sensitivity - with near-infrared showing a slight edge at 24 hours, though results were comparable by 48 hours. A 2017 case study reported similar findings.

The picture with combined treatments is nuanced. A 2019 study found red light therapy paired with potassium nitrate - the active ingredient in sensitivity toothpaste - was more effective than either alone, while a separate 2019 study found both treatments were effective independently but saw no added benefit from combining them. Worth noting, rather than glossing over.

A 2020 study looked at red light therapy alongside fluoride varnish for children with molar-incisor hypomineralisation, an enamel defect. The combination appeared effective, with the varnish offering a slower-onset effect and red light therapy providing more immediate relief.

What Are the Risks and Side Effects of Red Light Therapy?

Red light therapy's safety profile is a significant part of its appeal - research to date has found no major risks or side effects associated with the treatment. Some users report mild, temporary redness in the treated area or slight eye discomfort from the light's brightness, both of which are minor and short-lived. Protective eyewear is recommended to manage the latter.

Hope that helps.
